Proof read your writing : use the following checklist for SA1 exams too
Checklist:
SW checklist
1) purpose of writing must be made known in first paragraph and the tone (informal or formal)
2) number the content needed according to the pointers given - all points must be included
3) elaborate the pointers given essentially
4) organise the ideas in sequence
5) correct salutations and punctuation marks
6) clarity (important : clear to the reader)
7) do not copy sentences from the question fully - use the key words from passage. Paraphrase the
ideas
CW checklist
1) select the relevant pictures given - preferably just use one picture for your story creation. Not advise to use all three pictures - may tend to dilute the content of story and the essential components of story
2) think about setting, characters, problem, conclusion
3) good introduction giving a hook to the story
4) problem must be identified in the main body of the story
5) essential ideas must be elaborated.
6) use of 5 senses (sight, smell, taste, hearing, feeling/touch) for elaboration of actions, places, food, characters and emotions) - use them for the 'power' effect. Elaborate to develop your story.
7) correct tenses and spelling and not the least the correct choice of words
8) at least 3 paragraphs
9) conclusion - good conclusion - in various ways - with a moral, with a thought, with a lesson learnt or with a summary of the happening
