Homework update ( 19/5)
Sorry for the late post as I was busy with the exam matter. Here it goes,

1) English - Read Straits Times and do the activities in the Little Red Dot
For the letter to the migrant worker: You can do as a draft on the Little Red Dot itself -
                 These are the following guides:
  a) Since you do not know him or her personally, we need to start off with a formal tone - address him or her as

Dear Sir/ Madam,

b) state the purpose / intent of the letter - acknowledgment of thanks

example:

first paragraph:
I am writing to thank you for your dedication to giving our neighbourhood a clean and green environment.

second paragraph: What did the migrant worker do to deserve to be thanked. Think about it .......your experience with your neighbourhood foreign workers who work there.

eg : a brief note of thank you

For the past two years serving in our neighbourhood, you have without failed clean and clear all the garbage that was inconsiderately thrown by the people who used the park there for  their recreational activities.

--- you need to elaborate further -- specifically on his acts of kindness, responsible behaviour ....etc

eg : Your willingness to go beyond the extra miles to clear the clogged drains by picking up the crushed aluminium cans and the food wrappers that were thrown into them by the park users who thought that they have all the rights to do so just because that they pay taxes. If it had not been  for you, I guess the park would have become a landfill for garbage.

3rd paragraph : conclusion - thank again

eg : You have been a  wonderful worker. Your work and dedication really make a big difference in the lives of people like us. Thank you once again and I wish you all the best in your endeavours.

This is only a sample write up. Please do not copy exactly but think how you could improve and tweak the content in the letter.

c) signing off as

Yours sincerely,

your name (full name as it is a formal letter)

2) Maths - complete volume 2 in work book
